John Przybylinski hasn't taken a sick day in 42 years. Doing the job and to doing the best he can are values that define his approach to life and to work. And they're the heart behind a successful career.

Working with three-generations of the Maliszewski family, John has developed strong ties to the people and interests of the family-owned electroplating business. He joined Reliable Plating Works in 1964 as a laborer on the lines. Soon, he was promoted to night supervisor, followed by plant manager, and vice president of sales and personnel.

When Elite Finishing opened in 2000, John was one of the first to walk through the doors of the new facility. As plant manager, he is charged with managing employees, keeping an eye of schedules, meeting deadlines and making sure customers are satisfied.

On a typical day, John keeps apprised of incoming and outgoing shipments, discusses scheduling with line supervisors, schedules delivery dates, and handles problems that arise along the way. If there are mechanical issues, he arranges service calls from plant maintenance or outside vendors.

Years of experience and a decisive nature give John the ability to review facts and make quick decisions. And he focuses his energy to contemplate the next move, rather than second-guessing the past. Pride in one's work and a strong work ethic, may be "old school," but they're critical traits for today's workforce, John says. And he is a shining example.

John has been married for 40 years to his wife Sandy, and has three children and six grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf.
