Jack Maliszewski knows how to turn valuable lessons on the playing field into successful strategies in the workplace.
"Business is a lot like sports," Jack says. "Ultimately, it's a competition. You have to perform at the highest possible level to outshine your competitors and distinguish yourself as the best."
Inaugurated into the family electroplating business when he was just 12 years old, Jack has tackled a host of tasks over the years-including janitorial work, warehousing, lab work, racking, line operations and maintenance. The depth of his experience has given Jack an intimate understanding of what it takes to get the job done. "There's not a job I'm not asking an employee to do that I haven't done myself," he says.
Jack attained his Certified Electro Finisher (CEF) certification more than 15 years ago and was one of the first 100 individuals ever to earn that distinction. He also completed coursework in chemistry at Milwaukee School of Engineering and Milwaukee Area Technical College.
As vice president of production for Reliable Plating Works and Elite Finishing, Jack oversees operations on the lines, ensures plant and work-center efficiency, manages product schedules, handles programming of computerized lines, and keeps abreast of new ways to boost production and reduce errors.
Technology and automation in polishing hold promise for the future and Jack is committed to staying on the forefront of advances to introduce a new generation of quality, efficiency and safety.
The words "can't" and "no" aren't part of Jack's vocabulary. However tall the order, he strives to find a way to not only get it done-but to do it better and faster. This drive to succeed is a tradition handed down from his father and grandfather-and one Jack hopes to pass on to his own children.
"I want to leave a sound, profitable business for the fourth generation," he says. That doesn't mean having the biggest operation, but having one that provides exceptional quality and service. It means our customers can count on us to do what it takes to bring them the best."
Jack lives in Milwaukee with his four sons. In his spare time, he is active in his children's lives, coaching basketball and soccer and serving as a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts for the past 10 years. He also enjoys traveling to sites across the country with his kids.
